Christmas is coming!

December 6th, 2010 | | | | | | | | |

With Christmas coming, our calendars are filling up fast! This past weekend we had our 5th annual Christmas pj breakfast! We are at 9 kids now…but there will be more next year! (don’t get any ideas…I’m not having another one by next year) The kids love running around, playing with toys, and having tea parties…while the adults eat lots of yummy food and drink mimosas…good times had by all!

Later that afternoon we headed up to Swansons. Its a garden center nearby where they bring in a live camel and reindeer for the holidays. Raven was mesmerized…and Hazel was grunting with excitement! (at least thats what we are going with…)

Most of our photos are of the back of Raven’s head…she never wants to miss a thing! I think this will become a holiday tradition..it was so fun (plus we had dinner out afterwards. I like eating out.)

Hazel’s Birthday!

November 29th, 2010 | | | | | |

Hazel had such a great birthday! I’m pretty sure she loved every minute of it…and I’ll prove it to you :)

We started a birthday tradition with Raven…wake up with a song, a candle, and cake! Hazel wasn’t so sure about this at first…

happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear hazel

and after this we opened presents! Raven picked out a playground ball for Hazel, and that is by far her favorite gift!

Later on that afternoon was the party! Family and friends came over to help us celebrate our ball of energy! We played, had dinner, and then….we had cake!!! (this is where you can see her joy and excitement that proves she had a great day!)

thumbs up! the cake is good!

…and some party favorites!

(lots of sugar highs and sugar lows!)
As you can see, it was a really great day! We had a bit of a party hangover on Sunday…colds, runny noses, coughs, and some real sugar lows. It was so fun celebrating our little baby girl who is now one, who is almost walking, and who has started throwing tantrums like a full blown toddler. We are so thankful for you and we love you so much Hazel!

Oh, and here is a sneak peak at one of Hazel’s one-year photos!

last weekend we went down to magnolia village to see the lighting of the Christmas tree. unfortunately it was raining, but we didn’t let it stop us…the girls were freezing by the end of the night, but it was a fun night with friends.

Raven and Eliana weren’t too sure about this Christmas tree thing in the rain…in the cold…but they perked up when we got cookies and candy later :)

I was just looking through some pictures from over the last couple months that I thought I would share. Our girls are just so cute! They just love to play!

Carving Pumpkins with Daddy!

We will pretty much give her anything to stay in her crib. This is ridiculous, we know.

Halloween …a little late

November 7th, 2010 | | | | | |

I just realized I never posted anything about Halloween. Mom brain has been my excuse lately, so I’ll just go with that. Let’s see…what did we do… First we went to the community center to decorate pumpkins and play at the carnival in the community center. Raven and her bff were princesses. They pretty much held hands the entire time! Here is a little video…

Later that week we had a fun Halloween lunch at our friends house! There were massive amounts of kids, and a bit of chaos…but it was so fun!

Later that day we went to Magnolia Village to Trick or Treat. They close off the streets and the businesses hand out candy. Tons of people go to this, and it was actually a really warm sunny evening…which is nothing like what it usually is this time of year. Raven changed her clothes about a hundred times that afternoon, so I finally put a flower headband on her and called it good (I found out later that she also had 3 skirts on!) Hazel’s costume was an easy little jacket…she was a sweet little butterfly!

Raven’s Bible Verse

November 1st, 2010 | | | |

We have been working on memorizing Bible verses (for both Raven and myself). I have been amazed at how quickly she can recite this…here is a little video. She whispers part of it, so you might not be able to hear.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right”

Ephesians 6:1

sweet raven

October 21st, 2010 |

as some of you know, raven has been a bit of a handful these last couple weeks. since she has learned to climb out of her crib, nap time has turned into play time. raven has been unloading every drawer she can get her hands on, jumping into hazel’s crib an

d waking her up, opening child-proof infant tylenol and dumping it all over our bed, opening hand sanitizer and dumping it all over our bed (in the same spot as the tylenol), …she has completely covered herself in an entire container of vaseline, tried (and failed) to change her own poopy diaper, tried on most of hazel’s clothes (her favorite being “hazel’s undies” which is just hazel’s swimsuit), the list goes on…

today, this is how i found her :)

Pumpkin Patch!

October 17th, 2010 | | | | | | |

We had an incredible fall day to hit the pumpkin patch with our church group and friends yesterday! We went on a little hay ride, picked out pumpkins from the field, and the favorite part (which is no surprise at all) the bouncy house and the slide!

Loving fall, and loving my little family :)

photo session

Here are a few faves from our latest photo session at my most favorite place in Seattle….

rainbows!

September 2nd, 2010 | | |

This is from a few weeks ago…it was one of those glorious Seattle days, and we had to hurry up and enjoy it before the weather turned! We live right by a park called Discovery, so we packed up the car and headed to the beach for lunch. It was so fun! The tide was low, and Raven just kept running farther and farther out…through tide pools and towards the little waves. We also made rainbows in the sand with our toes. Here is Raven showing with one of our creations!

july round up

August 10th, 2010 | | | |

Raven LOVES to hold Hazel, and Hazel loves her big sister! Its amazing, though, how quickly the smiles and gentle hugs turn into a death grip and tears.

Lately the girls have loved watching Daddy go to work…it helps with their sad hearts and the tears that come when they know he is leaving. We have 2 Daddy’s girls on our hands. They also love to see how he will be going to work. Is he riding his bike? or driving his motorcycle? or more frequently driving his car? Raven yells through the window “Bye! Bye Da Da! Have a day!”

Pool Party with friends! Always a ton of fun!

Sisters playing in the cool. Me: Raven, its a pool p-p-pool. Raven: Its a cool p-p-cool. *sigh* Oh yes, that is Raven drinking the pool. The girl loves to drink water. That can’t be bad thing, right? I just try not to think about the gross stuff in that water.

Lovely post swim dinner :)She refused to take off the hat. Oh well. Pick your battles and enjoy these little moments that I will look back on and simply smile. At least she’s eating her dinner ;)

…and yes, Hazel is following in Raven’s footsteps! She has discovered how to carry a purse while she plays (and loving every minute of feeling like a big girl!).

more to come soon!

cribs

August 2nd, 2010 | | |

Raven has discovered that she can climb into hazel’s crib, and she loves going in there to lay down or wake up her hazel. one day we put hazel in raven’s crib after a nap, and they both loved it! here is a short clip of the fun that was had :)
